Blue Telescope re-engineered this exhibit to take advantage of Microsoft Surface technology. Museum visitors placed local flora and fauna specimens on the interactive tabletop, which recognized the objects using visual code tags, and led them through the process of correctly identifying each species. Visitors could zoom in on microscopic photography, visually match DNA samples, and rotate 3D models of each specimen using multi-touch gestures. Ambient animations, audio effects, and dozens of content elements made for a rich technology experience with a user-friendly learning curve for all ages.
